Nutrition for Weight Loss
Combining nutrition and exercise to improve your body composition, rebuild a healthy relationship with food, and finally break the cycle of yo-yo dieting for good.
With my combined expertise as a nutritionist and personal trainer, I've helped hundreds of clients reach their weight and shape goals over the years. No two clients are the same, so I work intuitively with you to build a clear, realistic plan that actually fits into your life, rather than asking you to fit around it.
Your plan combines nutrition and exercise to improve your body composition, rebuild a healthy relationship with food, and help you make changes that last, so you can finally break the cycle of yoyo dieting for good.
What's Really Driving Your Weight Gain
Weight gain in women is rarely down to one thing. In clinic, I commonly see it linked to an imbalanced gut microbiome, a sluggish liver, hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid, unstable blood sugar and insulin resistance, and genetic predisposition, often in combination rather than isolation. Rather than guessing which of these applies to you, I use targeted testing to find out. You can read more about all the tests I offer on my Functional Testing page.
The Main Tests I Use for Weight Loss
Advanced Thyroid Test
Gives a complete picture of your thyroid function, since even “normal” results can mask an underactive thyroid that's contributing to weight gain.
Ultimate Performance Test
A comprehensive blood panel covering blood sugar status, hormones, liver function, nutrient status and thyroid, giving us a broad, joined up view of what might be contributing to your weight, all from one test. This is a great starting point if you want a wide overview across multiple systems at once.
Functional DX Blood Test
An in-depth female panel that includes fasting insulin, a marker not covered by the Ultimate Performance test, alongside your other blood sugar markers. Fasting insulin is one of the earliest and most useful indicators of metabolic dysfunction, often flagging insulin resistance years before it would show up in a standard blood sugar reading. This test is particularly valuable if we suspect insulin resistance is playing a role in your weight.
Adrenal Stress Test
A simple saliva test measuring cortisol and DHEA across the day. Raised cortisol is a common driver of weight gain around the middle, particularly during periods of stress.
Personalised DNA Test
Looks at your individual genetic markers to understand your predisposition to weight gain, so we can build a plan based on your biology rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Food Intolerance Testing
Identifies foods your body may be reacting to, which can quietly raise stress and inflammation and make weight harder to shift.
